This years Gala will be a fun packed afternoon, with lots of entertainment, stalls, fairground rides, refreshments, craft marquee and much more.
Programme of Events 1.00pm: The parade will leave Ogden Lane 1.40pm: Opening of the Gala, crowning of the King & Queen, Trophy for best float, fancy dress and craft competitions. 1.45pm: Irish dancing in the bandstand. 2.00pm: Uncle Peters Magic Show. 2.30pm: Denholme Primary School Street Dancers. 3.00pm: Uncle Peters Magic Show.
All afternoon in the Arena:
Pole jousting, races for all ages, mascot football match, dunking stool, dog show.
If you would like to enter the craft exhibition, entries should be brought to the marquee on Gala day between 11.30am and 12.30pm. All entries will be judged and cakes will be tasted. There will be 1st and 2nd prizes for each class in all age groups. Classes: £1 per entry - Creating: Create a well known fruit and vegetable character. Cake decorating: Decorate a cake of your choice. Adult baking: Bake any type or flavour of cake in a loaf tin.
