20th November 2008: Denholme Neighbourhood Forum at 7.30pm in the Mechanics Institute. All welcome. Areas covered include crime and anti-social behaviour, youth provision, traffic issues, news of Buck Park Quarry. 27th November 2008: Denholme Community Association AGM at the Mechanics Institute 7.30pm. All welcome 28th November 2008: Denholme Primary School Christmas Fair 3.15pm. Santa’s Grotto, stalls, games, food, lucky dip, tombola, raffles, refreshments etc. 29th Nov 2008: Christmas Fayre at Denholme Shared Church 11am to 2pm. Various stalls, Christmas lunch (please book). If you have any items to donate, e.g. tombola prizes, bric-a-brac, books etc, please bring along to the church. 5th December 2008: Civic Carol Service at the Mechanics Institute 7pm. All welcome. 13th December 2008: Descant presents ‘Christmas Crackers’ an evening of seasonal music at 7.30pm Denholme Shared Church. Tickets £6 including a glass of wine and nibbles. 13th/14th December 2008: Christmas tree festival at Denholme Shared Church. Display of decorated Christmas Trees by individuals, local businesses and community groups. Each Thursday: Denholme Rural Crafters meet at the Mechanics 1.40 pm. £1.50 including tea / coffee and biscuits. 3rd Tuesday each month: The Town Council meets at the Mechanics Institute and the public can come and speak for the first ten minutes. However, anyone can come and sit and listen to any Council meeting, but not to speak. Every Tuesday: Denholme Ladies Welfare meet at Forester Court, from 1.30-3.15pm. New members are always welcome to enjoy bingo, card games, tea or coffee. There are also day trips to the seaside and to markets in the summer. Tel: 01274 835348 for details.

Tina is also on the committee for Bradford Community Broadcasting (BCB 96.7 fm to 106.6 fm) and has a two hour programme on Thursday called the Afternoon Stretch with Alan Keeling from 2-4 pm. She is always looking for guests to talk about interesting things they have done or are planning to do or about difficulties faced in general regarding community issues. Tina also has a slot for writers only, which runs monthly on a Tuesday evening from 6.30 pm to 7.00 pm. It is called the Scribe Slot and is not for well published folk, but a step on the ladder to fame with the backing of the Bradford Writers Circle name behind it.
